Summary
Supervises all maintenance staff. Helps direct repairs, installation and testing of electrical equipment, appliances, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment, and telephone wiring.

Essential Functions
Supervises all maintenance workers
-Assigns work orders and PM's
-Assists with the interviewing and selection process
-Trains and in-services general maintenance employees
-Participates in the disciplinary procedure according to hospital policy
-Works with all trades within the Facility Department
-Have a basic knowledge of all trades so that he/she can work to assist and troubleshoot all components of the hospital utility systems
Establishes on-call schedule to cover off-hours and emergency work. Responsibilities may include taking a shift as part of the team rotation and/or snow removal assistance.
Employee Training, Continuing Education, Compliance, and Reviews
-- Oversee the on-boarding and training for any new hires. Provide a consistent on-boarding experience regardless of which maintenance team the new hire joins. Promotes a "safety first" work culture.
-- Monitor monthly reports to ensure all staff meet hospital training and compliance requirements.
-- Identify topics of interest for every other month Toolbox Talks or Safety Training. Work with Admin Assistant to schedule dates in advance.
-- Provide on-going staff-related training with respect to proper sanitation requirements, to include handling and disposal of hazardous materials; correct recycling rules; and proper disposal of other items such as electronics, fiberglass, carpet, wood pallets, etc.
-- Establish an annual timetable for the maintenance teams to thoroughly update portions of the CMMS system.
-- Provide on-going education and mentorship opportunities within the department to create bench strength and succession plans.
-- Conduct annual reviews
-- Participate in conduct reviews; provide feedback and initiate disciplinary action when necessary.

-- Utilize eBuy for routine purchases.
-- Help vendors track invoice status to determine if payment has been sent.
-- Verify proper tools and materials are available for use. -- Monitor spend within budget. Submit budget allowances in support of annual budgetary efforts.
-- Other responsibilities as assigned.
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the accuracy and proper documentation of all work orders and service records, including correct employee time allocations, detailed repair information, parts used, etc.
-- Email users if there are delays associated with any work orders.
-- Work collaboratively with the Facilities Coordinator to notify campus staff and patients of upcoming work which may affect their areas: shutdowns, alarms, etc.
-- Perform periodic spot reviews to inspect work for general compliance. Initiate disciplinary action if an employee's work is consistently lacking completion, quality, and/or compliance.
The MSE Facility Supervisor reports to this position, as does the Belmont Engineering (shop) team and the Facilities Coordinator.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience
