Responsibilities

Preferred Location: San Francisco or San Jose, California.

The Solutions Engineer will be a key team member on the Keysight Enterprise Sales team. This position will work closely with the assigned Regional Sales Manager and will provide technical leadership and support to the region. The successful candidate will be a skilled engineer that is able to assess customer needs and facilitate solutions unique to their business.

Effectively work as a team with the Regional Sales Manager to architect the solution (create Bill of Materials and Visio Drawings) and ensure that it leverages Keysight solutions and fits into the overall customer architecture and aligns with their business requirements to win opportunities. This includes but not limited to:

  • Proactively and effectively identify customer needs, understand business issues and drivers behind specific requests.
  • Driving effective product and solution demos for customers as needed.
  • Conducting and successfully complete Proof of Concept (POC) efforts while engaging customers, channel and tech partners, while managing demo gear to and from the customer.
  • Responding timely to technical pre-sales inquiries, requests for information, requests for proposals

Coordinate and work with channel partners to;

  • Identify, qualify and close pre-sales opportunities.
  • Delivering technical and sales methodology training as needed to enable the partner to communicate about the Keysight products effectively.

Work with and internal teams (Product Management, Support, and Engineering) to;

  • Lead network architecture, security, and cloud discussions and solution design.
  • Submit, justify and guide new feature requests

Assist peers in similar roles by;

  • Developing a knowledge base to be a technical point of contact for technology product line, including intended use, use case, deployment history and future development direction.
  • Gain a high level of functional knowledge of the business needs and drivers of a market vertical.
  • Deliver training in various business skills or tactics to further the other goals.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience in a Pre-Sales Engineering role preferred
  • 8+ years' experience in the fields of network or cyber security operations
  • Experience working with channel and technical partners preferred.
  • Proficiency with network and cyber security architectures.
  • Understanding of Cloud offerings such as VMware, OCI, AWS, Azure or Google.
  • Understanding of network visibility, i.e. concepts and architectures of packet brokers, tap/aggregation, and inline network security.
    • Familiarity with APM/NPM systems and network analyzers.
    • Knowledge of SSL encryption and decryption.
  • Hands-on experience with architecture/implementation of network or security solutions within the last 12 months.
  • API and/or scripting experience a plus.

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

CA Pay Range: MIN $174,060- MAX $290,100

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
