Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Manager is a key position within the Central Repair Shop and will have responsibilities covering, process innovation, continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the repair shop which include SAP order entry to delivery, machine health analysis, quality assurance, CAPEX, TPM, and Lean methodologies. This role is key in identifying and solving problems so that we can better support Power Plant Operations and prepare future growth.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • To identify and deliver service improvement activity across Central Repair Shop, employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking
  • To work with key business stakeholders and other SMEs, creating a culture of Change Champions to build a continuous improvement environment to support multiple, simultaneous, business change programs
  • To take ownership of building improvements, machine repair or replacement initiatives from idea to CAPEX, to completion.
  • To create systems to improve the health of our machines through TPM - Total Productive Maintenance.
  • To improve Sales, Operations, and Planning functions as it pertains to order entry and execution processes.
  • To lead improvement efforts and change initiatives in SAP, workflow management, production orders, and traveler enhancements.
  • To elicit requirements and drive process change using colleague interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, business analysis, and workflow analysis
  • To actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems or change management engagement opportunities and proactively identify solutions to address in advance

Working Conditions:

  • In office/Machine Shop Environment
  • Travel infrequent, but must be open to supporting in-person events should it be required, based on environmental factors and local and company health guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

  • Accredited in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, preferably Black Belt, and Change Management, or equivalent recognized certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or 5+ years' proven continuous improvement analytical experience from a similar role, including project management and business analysis
  • Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts including value stream mapping, customer journey mapping, process documentation, etc.
  • Ability to set up, facilitate and lead service improvement workshops with a range of business stakeholders and SMEs
  • Experience leading teams and/or improvement projects in a Machining and Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with designing remediation plans to address productivity and efficiency issues, with track record of following through to ensure closure
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of business leaders, senior managers, and subject matter experts
  • Strong analytical, project and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Experience with the whole project lifecycle; able to operate in the initial conceptual design stage, into the depths of systems testing, to final deployment with change support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years working in an engineering field
  • Experience in project management, Visio, Minitab
  • SAP experience in manufacturing workflows
  • Experience as a proven leader with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Professional certifications in more than one discipline

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate data, strategies, and materials to provide recommendations

Physical Requirements:

  • Working in a shop environment
  • Extended workdays and work weeks during outage periods
