Description of Work	The University of North Carolina at Charlotte recognizes the differentiation of mission, goals, and objectives inherent in the diversity of disciplines represented by its colleges and departments. Thus, the Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should be interpreted in the context of the related departmental and collegiate teaching goals. Teaching - Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities	Lecturers in the School of Nursing participate in teaching and service activities in support of the School's mission. Essential responsibilities include teaching in face-to-face, online, clinical, and simulated environments; evaluation of student performance, creating collaborative relationships with clinical agencies; working with diverse students and faculty; engaging in curriculum design; developing and administering reliable and valid tests and measures; and engaging in service to the School, the College of Health and Human Services, and, as appropriate, the University.
Minimum Experience/Education	UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience	Minimum qualifications include a Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution, 2 years of recent nursing experience in any of the following areas: obstetrical, pediatric, community, and/or psychiatric mental health nursing. Preference given to recent experience in pediatric and obstetrical nursing. Also preferred: teaching experience, excellent communication skills, the ability to effectively collaborate with teams, manage change, a doctoral degree in nursing, and national certification in a specialty area.
Necessary Licenses/Certifications	Must have, or be eligible to obtain licensing from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
