Job Summary:
Reporting to the Practice Manager and General Surgeons, the Clinical Office Coordinator performs a wide variety of responsibilities and support to the physician.

Job Functions:
?-Greet patients upon arrival, maintains orderliness of reception area and Front desk ensuring patient confidentiality.
?-Answer phones and retrieves and distributes messages appropriately.
?-Processes patients quickly and accurately through the computer based scheduling system for future appointments, surgeries and/or testing as appropriate for patient care.
?-Orders necessary office and medical supplies and insures security of all medications.
?-Captures and enters high quality patient demographic and financial information via telephone interviews and hard copy (mail-in, facsimile, etc.)
?-Identifies insurance coverage and payer requirements for hospital services, processes insurance verification and other basic benefits information for patients, as necessary.
?-Communicates with physicians' offices and staff in a timely and professional manner.
?-Maintains and supports patient's rights to care, privacy and respect.
?-Schedules and coordinate surgical procedures with the hospital and the patient
?-Enters daily and surgical billing charges to Athena
?-Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications:

?Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

?Experience: One to three years Administrative Assistant/Medical Office preferred.

?Licensure and/or Certification: Graduate of a Medical Assistant/Secretary program preferred.

?Skills:
?-Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and moderate keyboarding is required.
?-Knowledge of GE Centricity to access and utilize electronic medical records preferred.
?-Knowledge of Athena based scheduling/billing software helpful
?-Strong customer service skills.
?-Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented with strong ability to multi-task required.
?-Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
?-Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
?-Knowledge of patient billing, account processes, third party billing and revenue cycle preferred.
?-Ability to maintain confidential information required.
