You'll be an integral part of our innovative team, supporting approximately 70 talented technical staff members in achieving their critical missions.

As a Group Administrator you will...

Provide Exceptional Administrative and Operational Support:

  • Coordinate daily office operations, ensuring smooth administrative processes and efficiency.
  • Prepare, file, distribute, and maintain both classified and unclassified documentation with precision.
  • Manage logistics for office moves, team meetings, events, and special projects.
  • Facilitate travel arrangements, expense management, and clearance processes efficiently.
  • Oversee onboarding processes for new team members, including workspace setup, IT coordination, and initial orientation.
Serve as the Group Security Representative:
  • Attend and disseminate critical security training and updates.
  • Lead efforts to streamline security processes, maintain classified electronic resources, and support classified network requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive support for security inspections and ensure staff compliance with security protocols.
Support Hiring and Team Development:
  • Coordinate recruitment processes, schedule interviews, and facilitate candidate evaluation.
  • Arrange and manage onboarding logistics to integrate new hires effectively.
Oversee Group Resources and Procurement:
  • Serve as the primary liaison for property management, procurement, and tracking of supplies.
  • Proactively manage office resources, anticipate equipment lifecycle needs, and oversee property inventories.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of proven experience providing administrative support, ideally in a dynamic office setting.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated initiative, proactive problem-solving, and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adept at interacting with all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), data management, and electronic record-keeping.
  • Experience managing administrative support functions in environments requiring discretion and handling sensitive information.
  • Background coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize administrative processes, improve organizational efficiency, and implement new systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
