Job Description

Directly leading a team of Commodity Managers to develop, implement, and manage global sourcing and risk strategies for a portfolio of IT services, software, and goods.. Indirectly leading a cross functional group of regional IT sourcing commodity managers and analysts to achieve improvements in the overall cost to operate the IT services, software and goods that are delivered to our employees. . Indirectly influencing a regional group of buyers to achieve year-on-year improvement in total cost, quality, and service. Managing supplier relationships for a portfolio of IT commodities. Accountable for delivering on the global IT Commodities and Services Sourcing vision, while driving real improvements in the Cost to Serve for our IT organization. Providing leadership of cross-functional strategic sourcing teams and accountable for execution and implementation of IT Sourcing Strategies. You will work hybrid from Milwaukee, WI or Mayfield Heights, OH. You will report to the Director, Global Indirect Sourcing.

Your Responsibilities:
  • With guidance from the Director Strategic Sourcing, develop the sourcing strategy for assigned IT Services, Software, Telecom and Hardware commodities, using input from the sourcing team and key global/regional stakeholders within the IT and CISO organization.
  • The sourcing strategy will drive the continuous improvement of Rockwell's Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the assigned commodities.
  • Leads the global IT sourcing strategy for Services, Hardware, Software, and Telecom services. Provides direction to Commodity Manager to lead global sourcing IT negotiation and supplier strategies for IT services, software and commodities.
  • Delivers the global IT sourcing strategy by developing and coaching commodity managers and indirectly influencing corporate and regional IT leaders.
  • Drive supplier maturity growth improvements in IT Sourcing organization and structure, including software, services, hardware and telecom services, as well as security. This should include strategies and approaches for RFP structures, governance and market intelligence analytics, etc.
  • Supports the vision of Corporate IT and Security departments.
  • Partners with IT and Finance to produce accurate financial reporting through improved data analytics.
  • Leads and collaborates with the IT support operations organization to improve preferred partners capabilities, negotiate contracts and reduce transportation costs (on-going contract / RFQ negotiations)
  • Partners with IT service providers / Software as a Service providers / industry experts to understand capacity conditions and market pricing.
  • Partners with the corporate IT leaders to establish global metrics, with an emphasis on exception-based reporting to deliver better IT services and capital outcomes.
  • Serves as a global single point of escalation for all critical supplier negotiations and commercial opportunities.
  • Drive implementation of the sourcing strategy for assigned IT commodities. Once a sourcing strategy has been developed, the Manager will communicate, monitor and aggressively manage business unit compliance of the strategy. The Manager will also establish working relationships with other IT operations functions, bringing a Strategic Sourcing perspective to all key processes.
  • Leadership of strategic sourcing teams. The Manager will lead and drive results of specific strategic sourcing strategies within assigned commodities and must be successful at managing and influencing a cross-functional team.
  • The Manager will act as a catalyst for change to achieve business goals as well as addressing barriers to change.
  • Develop an expertise in the IT Operations, internal and external software used and capabilities for commodities and services.
  • The Manager partners with IT Leadership and IT Operations to understand their goals and objectives and formulates strategies to achieve desired business results. On an ongoing basis, the Manager will remain current on service and supply market trends, supplier economics, and best practice sourcing
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 25% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • 8+ years of experience working within IT sourcing and operations
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution, strategy development and project management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Sourcing IT Services, Software, Telecom, and Hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects / assignments requiring identification of objectives, resources and/or approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability in driving maturity growth of sourcing organizations.
  • Working knowledge of IT systems including ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Knowledge in data architecture and management applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
