PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The role of VP, Global Sourcing and Logistics is pivotal in shaping the strategic vision for the Global Sourcing and Logistics organizations and enabling the Enterprise Strategy. This position oversees approximately $6 billion in global spend and is responsible for providing leadership, governance, and expertise resulting in a high performing organization that delivers sustainable results, value, and ownership advantage. The Vice President, Global Sourcing and Logistics must gain input, buy-in, and alignment from global internal stakeholders within a highly matrixed organization to enable the organization to effectively execute critical objectives.

As a member of the CFO Leadership Team, the Vice President, Global Sourcing and Logistics demonstrates teamwork and commitment to the overall success of Owens Corning, making and influencing key business decisions while upholding corporate values. This leader is committed to winning with customers and growing talent through effective organizational design, performance management, succession, and development.

Span of Control: Approximately 150+ employees, globally, through direct and indirect reporting relationships

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Driving Productivity, Value Creation and Efficiencies Leveraging full Enterprise Spend (end to end):



  • Lead the development and execution of a value creation roadmap aimed at reducing enterprise total spend by 2% year-over-year.
  • Identify and implement organization optimization initiatives and process improvements to enhance operational and OPEX efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for value creation initiatives.
  • Drive robust supplier relationships with innovative value creation and productivity strategies, ensuring supply security at the best economics for all commodities.
  • Accountable for all negotiations with the global supply base, including sourcing and third-party providers. Ensuring all sourcing activities adhere to the highest ethical standards, consistent with OC's values and business code of conduct.
  • Develop strategic category management focus on supply security and leverage the scale of the enterprise to drive synergies.
  • Owns the process simplification, standardization and automation of the sourcing function through digitalization road map and partnership with the Global Business Services team.
  • Partner with our sustainability team to lead OC Responsible Supply Chain objectives.



Developing a High-Performance Team:



  • Build and lead a high-performing global sourcing team with the capability to select and develop strong leaders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, excellence, and inclusion.
  • Createan environment where talent is developed through effective coaching, performance management, talent evaluation, and succession planning.
  • Effectively createand fill openings using the appropriate mix of internal promotions and external recruitment to satisfy near-term performance, longer-term succession needs.
  • Investin the growth and development of self, direct reports and other key talent in their organization.
  • Challenge the organization to evolve higher levels of value and contribution through clearly defined objectives and prioritization of work.



Influencing the Organization and Driving Enterprise Strategy:



  • Act as a key influencer and strategic partner within the organization to drive enterprise-wide initiatives and strategies.
  • Active member of the Operations Leadership Council (OLC) and CFO Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives and accelerate progress on strategic initiatives.
  • Represent the global sourcing function in executive meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Provide executive-level updates, guidance, and insights to the enterprise leadership team
  • Assure corporate processes and purchasing transactions adhere to all corporate and sourcing policies, including SOX and proper Levels of Authority approvals.
  • Understand the daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly needs of each of the business sourcing and supply and partnerships to drive a more effective organization.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Undergraduate degree in business or related field is required; an M.B.A. or other advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • 15+ years of experience in senior leadership of Global Sourcing, Global Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or relevant business / commercial experience with progressive responsibilities; ability to communicate the value proposition of the supply chain and sourcing organizations as a commercial asset.
  • Experience creating and implementing strategies at a comprehensive and global level within a corporate environment.
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally; estimated travel 10%-30%.



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Experience with building materials or process manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with diverse customer and/or product channels with distinct service level and supply chain requirements
  • Direct customer-facing sales and/or commercial experience



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization; ability to work and influence cross-functionally in a global environment.
  • Strong commercial orientation, with thorough understanding of financial statements, especially cash flow and cash generation, cost reduction, productivity, and working capital.
  • Demonstrated customer centric approach that enhances relationships with senior management and all stakeholders.
  • Ability to build organizational talent and develop a world-class sourcing and supply chain team by mentoring/coaching, rewarding high performance and skill development.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to articulate both short and long-term (three-year) plans; ability to articulate strategic vision to other leaders.
  • External understanding of the customer's value chain
  • Strong ability to build business partnerships across the company and influence decisions of senior management.
  • Change agent with ability to design for the future while managing day-to-day operations. Able to anticipate risks and propose tactical plans for mitigation; strong project-management skills.
  • Metric-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to comprehend broad sets of data (especially financial).
