SUMMARY
-
The Election Training Specialist is responsible for supporting all staffing initiatives for Election Day and other election processes. This role ensures compliance with the National and Pennsylvania Voter Registration Acts (NVRA and PVRA) and maintains legally mandated records. The position also focuses heavily on training employees, temps, volunteers, and poll workers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Understand and manage all facets of SURE, the Commonwealth's statewide voter registration data system. * Review and process voter registration applications and updates accurately and timely, including handling duplicate registrations and updating voter addresses. * Answer public inquiries regarding voter records and assist with day-to-day operations, including data entry and public assistance. * Train new hires, employees, temps, volunteers on SURE and other systems, and lead classroom-style, hands-on training sessions for poll workers, canvassers, and tabulators. * Prepare and manage annual, semi-annual, and quarterly mailings, and support department goals through cooperation and information sharing. * Maintain a positive attitude and assist with various tasks, including working overtime during Election Season to staff Satellite Offices and support post-election reconciliation. * Understand roles and responsibilities of all election staff, maintain accurate records, and verify voter registration status of election staff and volunteers. * Respond to communications from volunteers and staff, initiate outbound communication to fill vacancies, and manage the Student Poll Worker Program. * Collaborate with the Election Personnel Coordinator to optimize training materials, process paysheets post-election, and guide recruitment strategy. * Deploy mass communications to volunteers/Poll Workers, update the website, and advertise volunteer opportunities. * Attend community events to recruit volunteers and educate residents. * Performs all other duties as assigned with the scope and range of job responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Credentials * High school diploma or equivalency.
Experience and Skills * Proficiency with Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, Mail merge, and labels. * Proficient in data entry and typing skills. * Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. * Must be accurate, well-organized, and detail oriented. * Ability to work calmly and productively under pressure. * Excellent telephone skills and professional demeanor. * Knowledge of PVRA/NVRA. * Mastery of SURE system protocols and procedures.
