The AVP - Loan Servicing position is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing all operational aspects of the consumer, commercial and residential loan portfolio, and monitoring all mortgage loan accounts, researching discrepancies, and correcting problems. Provides managerial oversight of daily operations of Loan Servicing Department in a support role focusing on mastering Bank's core loan system, developing efficiencies through automation and ensuring a high level of customer service and employee oversight. This position also provides input and feedback to the VP, Loan Servicing for problem resolution as needed.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Takes a leadership role while completing high-level duties and assignments and providing guidance, error resolution and support to staff and customers with complex tasks.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationship with all levels of management, staff and outside clients and vendors.
- Responsible for understanding and managing the banks mortgage loan portfolio. Uses knowledge to ensure that impacts on related accounts and relationships are taken into consideration when processing loan modifications, maintenance and research requests.
- Responsible for a broad range of processing, operational, reconciliation, customer service and/or accounting-related, specialized duties in support of assigned area(s).
- Responsible for production and quality statistics in support of departmental goals; ensures timeliness of assigned responsibilities.
- Prepares necessary documents and/or reporting in support of loan/ payment/ default processing activities as needed. Maintains complete and accurate records of transactions in accordance with department and/or company policies and procedures.
- Reconciles and verifies accuracy of calculations; researches and resolves discrepancies as needed. Submits items reporting to accounting; prepares and reviews related transactions and makes financial adjustments to customer accounts as needed.
- Responsible for monitoring exception items/reports, the investigation and resolution of cases.
- Delivers consistent excellent quality customer service and establishes relationships in a manner that enhances the overall marketing efforts of the bank.
- Monitors and enforces compliance related policies, procedures, guidelines, and bank's practices.
- Provides guidance to staff with interpreting and understanding loan documents, investor requirements, bank procedures and policies, directing an appropriate course of action.
- Responsible for Bank's core loan system and creating new processing efficiencies and automation.
- Identifies and resolves operational and systems issues for the loan servicing department by working with the IT dept. and software vendors. Coordinates system upgrades and software enhancements and maintenance. Maintains all software databases unique to the loan servicing mortgage department. Responsible for the design and maintenance of all the forms and reports unique to the mortgage department.
- Assists the VP, Loan Servicing, in supervising the Loan Servicing Department staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the bank's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, and assigning and directing work.
- Assist in developing each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching and training.
- Assists in training new staff and ensures existing staff is well trained and answers routine questions.
- Assists in all External and Internal Audits as necessary.
- Other projects and/ or duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Previous experience in bank loan servicing, loan originating or loan operations.
- Hands on knowledge of commercial, consumer, and residential loans supervisory experience.
- Proven record of successful goal attainment, project development, and staff coordination.
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential matters and information.
- Excellent quality customer service skills and ability to establish relationships in a manner that enhances the overall marketing efforts of the Bank.
- Current up-to-date understanding of industry trends and developments.
- Must have the ability to produce results, meet all established goals, objectives, and expectations, and ability to comply with all bank policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Excellent analytical, problem resolution and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate clearly, concisely, tactfully, and effectively both orally and written.

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in a business related discipline and 5 years in mortgage lending or banking experience including 4 years in a management role, or an equivalent in experience (12 years).
