Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. Minor Electrical maintenance, repairs and other duties are the primary duties. Assists the Facilities Department with electrical, HVAC, and other maintenance. Participates in performance improvement (PI) activities.




  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest quality of the Facilities Department.
  • Maintain the Electrical System, Generators, and electrical system to ensure a good operating system.
  • Performs urgent correct, routine, and requisitioned repairs of minor problems with the electrical and mechanical systems as required
  • Performs electrical installation of low and medium voltage systems within reason of said projects.
  • Performs maintenance on equipment and systems as required.
  • Helps develop and perform the Electrical maintenance procedures according to NFPA70 & the NEC.
  • Performs maintenance duties to all physical structures of facility and complies with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls.
  • Assist in replacing repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required.
  • Maintains records of all inspections, maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system in our log books and in our computer maintenance management system.
  • Overseas all Electrical, nurse call and low voltage contractors and ensures they are completing their work properly.
  • Follow up on all contractors from the "Above Ceiling Permits' and ensure their work was proper according to NFPA by performing inspections above the ceilings
  • Maintain and organize the stock room with parts for the areas you are in charge of.
  • Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trach, or scrap material).
  • Helps with basic snow removal when needed.
  • Ability to do work on his/her own with only minimal supervision.
  • Develop a working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.
  • A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain facilities tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge and observance of safety precautions.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Ability to design, research options for parts, repair possibilities or alternate fixes by developing a plan, researching the possibilities on the internet and developing cost along with the options.
  • Shared On-Call status with engineering team for trouble calls on a rotating basis after hours.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the Facilities Manager and accepts other duties as requested.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements by becoming knowledgeable and understands the code books affiliated with the medical facilities.


Regulatory Requirements:



  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Prefer two to five (2-5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the electrical trade in a medical facility or 6-10 years of experience if not in the medical electrical field.
  • Must carry and maintain a minimum of a Journeyman Electrical license; Master electrician is preferred
