Overview

Leads the strategic direction, daily operations, and continuous improvement of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to support organizational goals. Oversees system architecture, integrations, data integrity, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure efficient delivery of HR technology solutions. Ensures alignment of HRIS initiatives with business priorities, facilitating data-driven decision making and enhancing the employee experience. Acts as an organizational leader, providing insight into system strategy and change management to advance the organization's capabilities with its HRIS system.



Responsibilities

    Directs the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of the HRIS to ensure system performance, user accessibility, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Leads end-to-end system upgrades, patches, security setup, workflow development, and enhancements across HRIS modules (Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition, etc.).
  • Oversees internal and external integrations (e.g., Active Directory, iCIMS, Workday, 403(b) vendors, LOA vendors, insurance brokers) to ensure data flow and compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains reports and dashboards using tools such as Cognos, Power BI, and SQL; driving the standardization of reporting processes and prioritization of analytics requests.
  • Partners with and secures buy-in from leadership and stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans that advance HRIS capabilities beyond reactive support, emphasizing strategic planning and process development.
  • Establishes and chairs the Change Control Review Board; establishing governance processes to evaluate, prioritize, and approve HRIS changes to support organizational goals and risk management.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders, including HR, IT, Finance, Operations, and Compliance, to assess system needs and ensure infrastructure capacity supports current and future requirements.
  • Leads system and data audits, ensures SOX compliance, and upholds security protocols across all HRIS functions.
  • Researches and applies new technologies, innovations, and best practices in HR systems to continuously enhance system functionality and user experience.
  • Partners with Training and Operations teams to ensure end-users are educated and equipped to use HRIS systems efficiently and effectively.
  • Manages vendor relationships, negotiates service-level agreements, and monitors contract compliance to ensure timely and effective product delivery and support.
  • Support annual budget planning related to HR Technology needs; monitors spending and identifies opportunities for cost containment.
  • Mentors HRIS and cross-functional teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative problem solving.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HRIS or HR Technology experience, including progressive leadership experience.
  • Proven experience with systems integration (internal and external) across HR, Payroll, Finance, and third-party vendors.
  • Strong preference for prior UKG Pro expertise across multiple modules.
  • Cross-functional leadership experience collaborating with Payroll, HR, Finance, and IT Teams.
  • Experience with HRIS development, configuration, change management, and change control.
  • Experience designing and implementing reporting processes to drive decision-making.
