The Department of General Business in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (located in Morgantown, WV) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position starting in August 2024. The position will involve research under Dr. Alicia Plemmons, in the topics of economics and regulation. In terms of research duties, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to lead independent research projects and collaborate with faculty and doctoral students in the Chambers College with the goal of publications in reputed journals in economics or related fields e.g., management, entrepreneurship, information systems, healthcare). The position does not have any formal teaching requirements, but the Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to attend graduate student seminars and work with graduate students involved with outreach and policy evaluation. While this position is not tied to any specific center, the Postdoctoral Fellow would have the opportunity to work with several university centers such as the Knee Regulatory Research Center, the Center for Free Enterprise, Nemacolin Lab, or Data Driven WV. Candidates with a PhD in economics and related fields (e.g., management, entrepreneurship, information systems) or a healthcare-related discipline that involves coursework in statistical methods and policy evaluation are encouraged to apply. Salary and benefits are appropriate for experience and qualifications. The position and start date are subject to budget approval. Qualifications
Qualified candidates must hold at the time of appointment a Ph.D. in economics and related fields (e.g. management, entrepreneurship, information systems) or a healthcare-related discipline that involves coursework in statistical methods and policy evaluation. PhD candidates in the advanced stages of their dissertation will also be considered but they should have earned their PhD degree before the start date of this position.
