Summary:

Are you passionate about helping new professionals thrive? Sensiba is looking for a Career Coach to empower our Associates and Experienced Associates as they launch their careers in the accounting industry. This role is crucial in supporting employees transitioning from college to the professional world, helping them build a strong foundation for success in their initial years at the firm.

As a Career Coach, you'll work closely with individuals to help them navigate their new roles and integrate into the firm. You'll provide development and performance coaching, guiding them on essential skills such as:

  • Building professional maturity
  • Honoring commitments
  • Developing effective communication

You'll also collaborate with Technical Mentors to ensure a holistic support system for our new associates.

This role is a fantastic fit for someone who is credentialed through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and has a strong background in accounting. Perhaps you started your career in public accounting and discovered a passion for people development, leading you to make a switch to professional coaching. Alternatively, you might already be an experienced coach within the accounting field, eager to bring your expertise to a firm dedicated to strengthening its talent. Your practical understanding of the accounting field will be invaluable in guiding our first-year Associates in tax and audit.

Reporting to the Lead Talent Advisor, you will be a vital resource for our early-career professionals, helping them identify development opportunities and achieve their full potential. This is a hands-on coaching role where you'll support 40-50 employees monthly.

You'll also collaborate with firm leaders, leveraging your coaching expertise to facilitate talent development initiatives. This includes facilitating trainings and working on special projects that are part of our comprehensive Coaching Program.

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of prioritization, collaboration, and organizational skills to manage a dynamic coaching portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with 40-50 employees at least once a month to support them with their career aspirations, strengths, development needs and career challenges
  • Provide personalized guidance and support to help employees set clear career goals, develop action plans, and overcome obstacles to career advancement
  • Offer feedback, encouragement, and recommendations to help employees enhance their performance, skills, and competencies
  • Partner with 30-45 Performance Managers to understand any changes in employees performance and develop support plan if needed
  • Work closely with Technical Mentors to ensure that new Associates are learning and developing technical skills and correctly applying firm processes
  • Assist employees in exploring and understanding various career paths and opportunities within the firm, including advancement opportunities, lateral moves, and specializations
  • Help employees identify their long-term career aspirations and develop strategies to align their career goals with the firm's business objectives
  • Collaborate with department heads to facilitate career planning discussions and succession planning initiatives
  • Identify skill gaps and development needs among employees and recommend relevant training programs, resources, and learning opportunities to support their professional growth
  • Provide guidance on developing technical skills, leadership capabilities, and industry knowledge through formal training, on-the-job experiences, and self-directed learning
  • Work in conjunction with Performance Managers and HR to develop informal Performance Improvement Plan for individual employees if needed
  • Offer ongoing support and guidance to employees as they navigate performance reviews, promotions, annual goal setting and career transitions
  • Identify trends and development themes to share with Leadership
  • Deliver internal leadership coaching and training
  • Provide soft-skill trainings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 2+ years' experience in career coaching, talent development, or related roles
  • International Coaching Federation (ICF) credential required, either Associate Certified Coach (ACC) or Professional Certified Coach (PCC) is required
  • Experience working in public accounting (in an accounting role or coaching within the field) is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting industry trends, roles, and career paths is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of career development principles, coaching techniques, and ethics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Empathetic listener and skilled problem-solver, with the ability to provide meaningful support and guidance to individuals facing career challenges
  • Proactive and results-oriented, with a passion for helping others succeed and grow in their careers
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing professional relationships, including responsibility for internal client deliverables
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees at all levels of the organization, including Leadership
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel

Compensation Range: $75,000 - 90,000 compensation per year
