Georgia-Pacific Dixie Consumer Products Operation is seeking qualified professionals for the Environmental Health & Safety Leader role at our Fort Smith, Arkansas facility. This role is crucial in building a partnership with front-line leadership and developing the production team in relation to EH&S, focusing on safety and environmental risk management.

Our Team

The Fort Smith Plant is integral to the Dixie brand, specializing in plates and bowls paper products. We are proud to safely manufacture quality products that have a competitive advantage and solid growth within the marketplace. The EH&S Leader will work closely with management to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, supported by the Dixie divisional EHS leadership.

What You Will Do

  • Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture.
  • Partner with site leadership to influence team members to achieve our Path to Zero Safety Strategy in line with Koch's Safety Vision.
  • Develop and implement key objectives and strategies to reduce the facility's risk profile.
  • Manage systems and processes that address EHS risks, including compliance standards and safety training.
  • Communicate facility safety vision and performance to stakeholders effectively.
  • Foster an environment where employees exercise their decision rights regarding EH&S.
  • Drive continuous improvement through self-assessments, incident investigations, and performance reviews.
  • Coach and mentor safety team members.
  • Manage the injury management and workers' compensation process.
  • Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Experience using and applying effective safety management systems.
  • Experience developing regulatory compliance programs and training.
  • Experience in occupational safety management with demonstrated results.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Demonstrated Leadership Experience.
  • Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.
