This position is located on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodations or pets). Essential Functions
- Operate and maintain RTS instrumentation, optical tracking systems, high speed video cameras and other optical assets
- Assist in preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with applicable system technical orders and other appropriate technical documentation.
- Perform daily operations and mission support activities according to standardized checklists and work instructions
- Assist in analyzing optical tracking equipment and system problems to resolution
- Assist in maintaining operational checklists, Maximo asset availabilities and other records
- Identify areas of process improvement and recommend efficiencies
- Assist in preparation of reports as site lead or senior techs require
- Assist in modification, sustainment, depot-level actions and systems checks/calibrations
- Assist in troubleshooting to component level, test, repair, calibrate, adjust, install and inspect instrumentation
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Good personal computer and software application skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Good organizational skills, time management, administrative and prioritization skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to write reports
- Ability to read and understand schematics, elevation, and assembly drawings
- Ability to work well independently and also as an active team member in a medium-sized group
- Ability to be flexible, maintain a positive attitude, be reliable and work under pressure in a very dynamic environment
Required Experience
- Associates degree in electronics or other STEM discipline, or equivalent military training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Zero or more years of work experience.
- Experience working with standard electronics test equipment such as oscilloscopes, and analog/digital multi meters desired.
- Experience with Maximo and/or other maintenance control systems desired.
- Experience working with inventory, property control, logistics, and quality standards desired.
- Experience with Microsoft TEAMS, SharePoint and one drive, preferred.
- Experience with operation and maintenance of optical tube assemblies, tracking mounts or CCTV/ other fixed camera systems, preferred
- Experience with modern video cameras, DSLR/SLRs, Adobe Creative Cloud, preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
- Ability to lift, carry and maneuver 40 pound Optical components
- Ability to work in remote locations (in pairs) for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in confined spaces for extended durations
- Able to travel by boat, helicopter, or aircraft to work at remote sites with limited facilities. Must have a waist circumference of 42" or less to ride in helicopters.
- This position is unaccompanied.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll driver's license.
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
