Responsible for inventory control, maintains accurate inventory for a Point of Sale System (POS). Enters merchandise orders into the POS System, receives merchandise, price and tag merchandise, identifies and corrects discrepancies. Tracks missing, defective or broken merchandise, obtains return tag and ensures credit is received. Reconcile paperwork and runs monthly reports. Processes shipping orders. Ensures accuracy, in order to maintain and improve quality control. Conducts physical inventory yearly for the Hospital Gift Shop and Storeroom. Pulls and delivers merchandise to Hospital Gift Shop.
Job Summary:

Pulls and delivers merchandise to the Hospital Gift Shop.

Part-time, Monday through Friday
Job Responsibilities:
List any requirements unique to this position in this department:
  • Oversees all merchandise for the Hospital Gift Shop.
  • Collaborates with the shipping department to ensure the efficient flow of all shipments.
  • Logs all merchandise boxes and cross-references order copies.
  • Enters merchandise orders, including pricing, into the POS system.
  • Receives merchandise, displays, and supplies; checks for missing, defective, or broken items.
  • Attaches price labels to merchandise or records barcode information in the system.
  • Resolves shipping issues by contacting vendors for credits and return tags for shortages, overages, and damaged or missing items.
  • Ensures that perishable and express packages are delivered or adequately stored.
  • Monitors and inspects the storeroom area to prioritize incoming shipments for delivery to the Hospital Gift Shop.
  • Processes shipping orders.
  • Maintains necessary supplies to ensure safe and uninterrupted receiving operations.
  • Removes obsolete equipment from service and prepares it for disposal or sale.
  • Maintains inventory control and monitors expiration dates for all pharmaceutical merchandise.
  • Performs daily and annual physical inventory cycle counts for both the Gift Shop and Storeroom.
  • Ensures accuracy to maintain and improve quality control.
  • Compares physical inventory with system records and reconciles discrepancies.
  • Investigates variances and adjusts errors in the POS system under the direction of the Gift Shop Manager.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly storeroom.
  • Assists with ordering supplies and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Reconciles paperwork with inventory monthly.
  • Removes and writes off inventory for donation or disposal.
  • Delivers merchandise to the Hospital Gift Shop, gifts, and baskets to patient rooms.
  • Assists in displaying merchandise in the Gift Shop.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the goals of the department and institution.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum Experience:
  • Three (3) years of receiving or inventory control experience preferred.
  • One (1) year of data entry experience is required.
  • One (1) year of retail experience preferred.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $19.50 - $33.00 per hour for the role of Inventory Control Clerk.
