Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced night shift Manufacturing Supervisor for the Large Machining business unit. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the aerospace manufacturing facility. This role involves supervising a team of production works, ensuring the products meet the required quality standards, maintaining production schedules, and continuously improving manufacturing processes. The supervisor ensures adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and company polices while fostering a productive and positive work environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, guide, and motivate a team of production operators, technicians, and other staff members.
  • Ensure that all workers are adequately trained on the equipment, processes, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members for skill development and growth.
  • Manage shift scheduling to ensure adequate workforce coverage and optimize production efficiency.
  • Plan and allocate resources (personnel, materials, and equipment) to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Quality, Engineering and Maintenance) to resolve production issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and ensure that manufacturing processes comply with aerospace industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality specifications.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Address quality concerns and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure product integrity and safety.
  • Enforce adherence to safety guidelines and ensure that safety protocols are followed by all employees.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with environment, health, and safety regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of conduct for daily production-related issues.
  • Communicate with management on production progress, delays and potential challenges.
  • Facilitate effective communication between shifts, ensuring that all team members are aligned on production goals and tasks.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports and logs, including downtime, production rates, quality incidents, and inventory.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to management regarding production performance.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing documentation is up to date and properly stored according to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or production, with at least 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements in manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational, problem- solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software, ERP systems and Microsoft office
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Infor Visual ERP experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.
  • Strong problem solving & organizational skills.
  • Must have some experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
