Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc, the nation's leading manufacturer of Ductile Iron Waterworks Fittings and Appurtenances has an opening for a Communicatons Specialist. TylerUnion's main manufacturing facility is located in Anniston, AL.

The Communications Specialist will support the development and execution of communication strategies to enhance the company's brand and engage with various stakeholders. This role involves creating content, managing social media platforms, and assisting with internal and external communications. Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Develop engaging content for various channels, including social media, newsletters, blogs, and press releases.
  • Manage the plant's participation and interaction with company communication tools.
  • Serve as the point of contact for plant leaders on communication needs.
  • Create and distribute internal communications to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Support media outreach efforts, including drafting press releases and coordinating interviews.
  • Monitor and manage social media accounts, including posting updates, responding to comments, and analyzing engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure relevant information is shared on the Company's brand and initiatives.
  • Gather and analyze data on communications effectiveness and recommend improvements to extend reach and readership.
  • Gauge employee and local community sentiment.
  • Manage company web page and update as needed.
  • Develop and maintain employee trust.
  • Establish credibility and influence across all levels at the plant.
  • Assist in planning and executing company events and campaigns.
  • Conduct research to support communication strategies and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, beset practices, and emerging communication technologies.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed to support the communications team.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing is a plus.

Environment:Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments. Exposure to various plant conditions, including noise, temperature variations, and machinery.
