RFK Community Alliance is an organization dedicated to helping people thrive. We provide high-quality, life-changing care and support to people and families facing complex challenges. Who You Are:
You're a creative storyteller with a passion for mission-driven work. You thrive in fast-paced environments where you can wear multiple hats-whether that's writing a compelling newsletter, designing a flyer, capturing a video, or posting on social media. You believe in the power of communication to drive awareness, inspire action, and build community.
You understand the value of brand consistency and know how to tailor messaging for different audiences and platforms. You bring fresh ideas to the table and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done-whether you're updating a website, supporting a fundraising event, or collaborating with program staff to share a powerful story.
In this temporary Marketing and Communications role, you report directly to and work in partnership with the AVP of Strategic Communications. Together, you'll elevate RFK Community Alliance's visibility and support fundraising, internal communications, program marketing, and recruitment efforts. Your work will help amplify our impact and connect more people to our mission.
Content & Storytelling
- Write, design, and create engaging content for emails, newsletters, social media, websites, speeches, and more.
- Share the stories that show the heart and impact of our work.
Branding & Messaging
- Ensure brand consistency in voice, visuals, and messaging across all platforms.
- Develop multi-channel campaigns that support fundraising, visibility, recruitment, and program enrollment.
- Design marketing materials or work with external designers to bring larger projects to life.
Digital Marketing
- Manage and post content to social media platforms.
- Create and send email campaigns and newsletters.
- Update website content using Sanity.io.
- Edit and produce short-form videos to support marketing goals.
Events & Community Engagement
- Support key events like our gala, golf tournament, and holiday drives with promotional materials, event decor, and storytelling.
- Write and distribute press releases to media outlets and community partners.
Additional Responsibilities
- Capture and edit high-quality photos and videos.
- Organize digital content to keep files accessible and easy to search.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, writing, or a related field OR 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Experience with social media. Experience with an email marketing platform a plus.
- Creative thinker.
- Team player capable of managing project details and time effectively.
- Must be comfortable with some design work in a program like Canva, Illustrator, etc and able to handle basic design projects (flyers, invitations, social, etc.). Design samples will be requested.
- Comfortable taking videos and photos and editing for both.
The ideal candidate is a creative, strategic communicator with strong writing skills, some graphic design skills, and experience managing digital platforms. They are organized, detail-oriented, and professional.
SHIFT:
- 20 hours a week. Position is hybrid with at least one 5-hour shift in Lancaster office per week during the hours of 8:30-4:30pm.
- Workdays are flexible to accommodate schedules and program needs but will be coordinated together with manager.
