  • Estimated hourly pay: $33.59 - $49.26. Plus, shift differential and overtime, if applicable

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Calibration Technician II, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

The Calibration Technician and is responsible for performing calibration and Intermediate repair/troubleshooting of instrumentation and measuring systems. Typical duties involve calibration of analog and digital pressure gauges, temperature controllers and thermocouples, weighing scales, tachometers and timers, flow meters and flow metering systems, electronic instruments and custom electrical test systems for fuel control applications, and machine tooling and fixtures. The Calibration Technician also assists A&T test operations personnel with troubleshooting of instrumentation systems to resolve Intermediate problems with production test equipment.

What's You Will Be Doing

Essential Functions

  • Performs periodic calibration and verification of instruments and systems per written work instructions and according to predetermined schedules with guidance from a level 3 technician. Understands and is capable of operating all pressure calibration master systems including pressure masters and deadweight calibrator for pressure instrument calibration; deadweights for scale calibration; master timer for time calibrations and temperature master for temperature controller and thermocouple calibration; primary standard flow calibrators for calibration of turbine, positive displacement and coriolis flowmeter calibration; Fluke 5700 calibration standard for voltage, current and resistance calibration functions; performs calibration on inspection equipment, as needed.
  • Assists in diagnosing and correcting basic malfunctions in test equipment and associated instrumentation.
  • Participates in installation of instrumentation in test equipment, connecting instruments to existing hydraulic, mechanical systems in production or development test stands, as needed.
  • Works with Production and test Engineering to resolve Intermediate problems with calibration test equipment and ensure proper use and application of calibration instrumentation.
  • Documents mechanical or electrical problems and utilizes internal and external resources to find solutions to those intermediate problems as it relates to calibration.
  • Analyzes test results in relation to design or rated specification and test objectives; modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications.
  • Documents calibration work in calibration database in compliance with quality requirements and to demonstrate compliance with customer and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Notifies Production Supervisors and consults with Engineering to resolve out of tolerance situations and analyze the impact on production hardware.
  • Verifies calibration requirements from work instructions with guidance from a Level 3 Technician for new equipment based on Engineering recommendations and input.
  • Participates in internal audits to meet quality requirements and demonstrate compliance with customer requirements.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Intermediate ability to read mechanical and electrical/electronic/hydraulic drawings and hydraulic schematics or blueprints.
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical/electronic theory, mechanical principles, and hydraulics systems
  • Ability to read and use a wide range of precision mechanical and electronic measurement devices.
  • Windows PC skills with some functional experience using spreadsheet, word processing, and database screens.
  • The ability to provide excellent service to internal customers.
  • The ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team.
  • Ability to learn and apply new concepts/techniques to work environment.
  • Ability to read and understand work documents, to communicate clearly to coworkers and supervisors, to listen attentively and comprehend key pieces of spoken information.

  • Intermediate knowledge of data acquisition systems.

Education or Formal Training

  • US High school diploma or equivalent required
  • US Technical/Vocational Certificate or Degree, or equivalent

Experience

  • 2- 5 years' experience in mechanical/electronic instrument calibration/service in and manufacturing environment
