We are looking for a Principal Visual Designer for a Design Consultancy client in Brooklyn, New York. This is a short-term contract that requires the ability to jump into a design sprint and hit the ground running. Additionally, you are highly encouraged to work in-office, please only apply if you're local and open to a hybrid work environment. Description Principal Designers function as expert craftspeople and individual contributors with a primary focus on hands-on design, as opposed to project leadership or client management. Their daily responsibilities encompass engagement in projects involving strategic planning, research, conceptual development, meticulous design, and development activities. They also include client presentations and mentorship of colleagues. At least 10 years of experience in a professional design environment with a background in digital product design (UX/UI). Your portfolio shows you can solve diverse problems for a wide range of brands and audiences, across the entire product lifecycle. You're a strong communicator and collaborator, whether you're working with other designers or those in non-design roles. You are reliable and consistent - the type of person who fulfills promises, hits deadlines, and maintains quality across different assignments. You are fluent with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite back in the day, Figma today) and you're not afraid to learn new tools and embrace new processes as industry software and best practices evolve. The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $77.00-$82.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
