Overview

We are seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to support our Washington, DC office. Candidate will review and analyze UxV designs, support design and construction activities, and assess contractor engineering and production progress. Responsibilities include evaluating technical data, drawings, manuals, and configuration documentation to ensure alignment with contract and system requirements.


What will you do?

  • Conduct a review and analysis of UxV designs, addressing technical issues that arise during design and construction, and in the development of the future UxV requirements and acquisition documents.

  • Perform engineering analyses of customer mission and performance requirements to define UxV attributes in engineering terms.

  • Perform ship design and construction Contractor and Subcontractor engineering and production analyses to include but not limited to physical progress, design progress and material procurement, Review of engineering systems' technical data, engineering drawings, technical manuals, ILS data, ILS Checklists, and configuration baseline documentation to determine the changes required to update requirements and assist in establishing the new baseline specified by contract, contract specifications, engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.


Do you have what it takes?

Required skills:

  • Bachelor's level degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 10 years - 15 years of professional experience

  • Relevant mechanical engineering experience related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs.

  • Must have active DoD Secret Clearance and ability to sustain one

Preferred skills:

  • Master's level degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Professional Engineer License

  • 15 or more years of professional experience

  • Relevant mechanical engineering experience related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs for Navy shipbuilding and defense systems.

Pay Range: VTG's estimated starting pay range is $85,000-$150,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.

This position is contingent upon contract award
