Job Details

Under the supervision of the Chief Accounting Officer, the SeniorDirector ofComplex Transactions will be responsible to research, document and conclude upon highly complex accounting transactions that span across the entire global organization, including those related to domestic and internationalbusiness combinations and divestitures. This position will work closely with the Strategy and Innovation team, members of executive and senior management, commercial and business unit leaders, and our corporate functional leaders. Additionally, the position will collaborate very closely with external valuation experts and the company's independent auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the accounting related to complex domestic and international business transactions

  • Lead acquisition related financial due diligence efforts

  • In connection with business combinations, ensure that assets acquired and liabilities assumed are properly valued in accordance with accounting rules

  • Work closely with outside valuation experts to establish fair values of intangible assets acquired in business combinations

  • Work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer on the accounting for legal contingencies

  • Keep current on new accounting and SEC regulations, proposed regulations, and agenda items of standard setters

  • Assist with the review of SEC filings, where necessary

  • Special projects and duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program; CPA required. Normally requires ten (10) years directly related and progressively responsible experience including 8 years of public accounting; serving at the senior manager level within an audit firm is required. Bilingual in Italian, Spanish or Portuguese preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in contingency accounting

  • Significant experience in public accounting; ideally with a Big 4 firm or tier II accounting firm

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and working knowledge of IFRS

  • Experience with financial modeling

  • Willingness to travel, including International

  • Executive presence and business savvy

  • Strong technical accounting skills

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborative team player

  • Strong problem-solving skills
