How this opportunity is different

As an Executive Recruiter within the Global Talent Acquisition team, you will work closely with the Reinsurance Executive Leadership Team on highly confidential searches. We partner with our Sourcing Team and Coordination Team on location analysis, inclusion initiatives, and offering the best possible service to our internal clients and our candidates. This position offers high visibility within Aon and extensive room for growth and development in a fast-paced environment. As the Executive Recruiter for Reinsurance you will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and networking top-tier talent in the reinsurance industry. This role requires a deep understanding of the reinsurance market, exceptional networking abilities, and the skill set of a head hunter.

What will your day look like

Each day will look quite different, working with executive-level leaders within the firm to grasp key business drivers and continually seek to understand how each role contributes to the success of the business. You will partner closely with the Global Head of Talent Acquisition, and Regional Heads of Talent Acquisition on recruitment and aligned TA on strategy for talent as well as key partners, such as HR directors, Compensation, Total Rewards, Legal and others to ensure best-in-class service levels. Our Executive Recruiters also work with select retained and contingent search firms on niche roles.

  • Developing positive relationships with senior leaders and establishing a solid understanding of strategic, financial objectives and how they relate to hiring needs.
  • Showcasing experience and skills by providing consultative talent acquisition guidance to senior leadership, ensuring alignment to key company and strategic objectives
  • Talent Sourcing: Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to attract high-quality candidates within the reinsurance industry.
  • Networking: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals, leveraging networks to identify potential candidates.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough research to stay up-to-date with industry trends, market shifts, and competitive intelligence.
  • Proactive approach to succession planning by identifying potential internal and external candidates for known succession opportunities for critical roles within the organisation
  • Candidate Assessment: Evaluate candidates' qualifications, experience, and cultural fit through comprehensive interviews and assessments.
  • Client Collaboration: Work closely with hiring managers and executives to understand their specific hiring needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies.
  • Database Management: Maintain a robust database of potential candidates and ensure accurate and timely updates.
  • Recruitment Campaigns: Design and execute targeted recruitment campaigns to attract top talent.
  • Negotiation: Manage the offer process, including negotiating terms and conditions with candidates

Qualifications and Skills

Significant and demonstrable recruiting experience with considerable experience in the executive-level recruiting and head hunting space will provide a solid foundation for this role. The ability to influence and showcase talent acquisition knowledge, standard methodologies, and maintain strong partnerships at all levels are critical. A solution-minded standout colleague that offers innovative strategies in the acquisition of executive talent is essential.

  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the reinsurance sector, including its key players, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build long-term relationships with candidates and clients.
  • Analytical Ability: Sharp analytical skills to assess candidate suitability and market dynamics.
  • Negotiation: Skilled in negotiation and closing deals with candidates.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in using recruitment software and tools to manage candidate pipelines and track progress including building talent maps and strategy plans for hiring with strong project management skills.
  • Eye for detail and ability to present information, such as candidate profiles and talent mapping, in a clear and informative way with a look and feel of high professionalism and quality
  • Confidentiality: High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the overall recruitment strategy.
  • Desire to learn and live Aon's values, including acting with integrity and displaying commitment to our clients, colleagues and community
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in executive recruitment, with a focus on the reinsurance industry.
  • Experience in headhunting and sourcing executive-level talent.

Salary range or hourly pay range for the position

The salary range for this position is $110,00 to $145,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of New York. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

Whether it is bonus/commission eligible

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
