Requisition ID req33085 Working Title Clinical Nutritionist,Sr Position Grade 13 Position Summary The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The Autism and other Developmental Disabilities Division provides interdisciplinary services for individuals throughout New Mexico. The Clinical Nutritionist, Sr, will provide medical nutrition assessment, consultation, and dietary counseling for children and adolescents referred to NM SAFE Pediatric Feeding Program for chronic feeding problems, malnutrition, and growth concerns. This position will consult with NM START team that provides crisis response and prevention for individuals with autism and intellectual developmental disabilities, as well as other CDD programs that provide parent training and early intervention. The Clinical Nutritionist, Sr, will develop and present trainings for academic programs and professional development at the CDD and other UNM HSC departments, as well as community trainings for caregivers and self-advocates. The position will oversee administrative processes and participate in quality improvement activities for the NM SAFE program. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or an equivalent field; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications **Be sure to address our preferred qualifications listed below in your cover letter** Nutrition assessment, consultation, and counseling for pediatric clients and their families; knowledge of evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary experience. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their caregivers. Training and technical assistance experience with students and professionals in a medical/clinical setting. Bilingual Spanish-English oral and written communication skills. Additional Requirements This position requires passing a Background Check and Fingerprinting.
