Description
  • Closer duties - Responsible for preparing all loan closing documents and ensuring that they are accurate while delivered timely
  • Communicate with all stakeholders involved in the closing to gather information, answer questions and resolved issues
  • Coordinate proceedings in the close process to include title companies, borrower and lender and maintain precise closing schedules
  • Processor duties - Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as well as with internal processes and audits
  • Ensuring all terms of the loans are met and work to resolved outstanding conditions required to fund the loan
  • Explains the differences between and approval requirements of various types of mortgages; prepares and presents a lending package based on client specifications.
  • Assists clients with completion of mortgage applications, inspecting completed documents for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Reviews loan applications, gathers credit histories and reports, and assesses applicants capacity to repay and default risk.
  • Provides ownership of the file from start to finish, by assessing potential risks, identifying potential, challenges and providing resolutions problems before escalating to the direct report.
  • Reviews new loan submissions within 48 hours of assignment, and contacts customer by phone and email to provide assurance the loan is processed.
  • Utilizes the company disclosures, documents, and other pertinent reference material to ensure closing of the file within 5 days of receipt.
  • Returns any incomplete loans back to Production Associate with explanation of any incomplete or incorrect information.
  • Sets expectation with client by providing direct communication to facilitate timeliness of non-processed. This may include requesting documentation and information needed for loan submission to Underwriting.
  • Ensures that projected closing deadlines are met by verifying that all documents are compiled and processed as they are received.
  • Oversees input of final and validated information
  • Submits complete loan file to Underwriting to obtain loan approval. Clears any conditions that require communication to the Client, title companies, appraiser, employers, surveyors, etc.
  • Manages responses to incoming communication and provides status updates by end of business day. Directly manages communication with upset clients.
  • Initiates all communication to Borrowers and Agents to guide them through the file management process.
  • Must maintain excellent attendance.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of four years' experience in the mortgage industry.
  • Mortgage industry experience preferred. Must have working knowledge with FHA/VA/USDA/Conventional loans.
  • NMLS eligible
  • Must be proficient in all Mortgage specific systems, Word, Excel and Outlook applications
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week during normal business hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must be results oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must have a positive attitude and maintain professionalism.
  • Must be dependable, self-motivated and require minimal supervision
