ESCO is seeking an Area Manager for the company's Norfolk, Virginia market.

All departments within EURPAC affiliates, customers, and clients

SCOPE:

Managing and directing a team of Base Managers (BM's) by assigning specific tasks to manage merchandising and selling activities at Exchange and Convenience facilities on military bases as defined by specific Geographical Area

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Sales: Attain all volume targets
  • Distribution: Maintain current distribution and meet established goals on new distribution
  • Budget: Manage the business within established expense budget guidelines
  • Utilizing provided technology to achieve goals

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and train teams on use of IT tools at the shelf
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Store Managers and Store Personnel
  • Build positive Client relationships
  • Timely and accurate communication of market conditions to Region Managers
  • Achieve call frequency objectives
  • Communication and reporting in a timely fashion utilizing the technology provided
  • Recruit, train, supervise and retain Base Managers
  1. Continuous training and development of personnel
  1. Client expectations regarding Product Plan-O-Gram and Shelf Management (CAO, Shelf Max)
  2. Displays
  3. Placement of point-of-sale material (e.g.-signs/coupons/recipes, etc.)
  4. Sales Penetration/Market Share
  5. Distribution/New Item Speed to Shelf
  6. Customer and Client knowledge
  7. Supervisory skills
  8. Coach and motivate
  9. Communication skills
  10. Pre-call Planning and Call Procedures
  11. Technical skills
  • Working knowledge of various AAFES, NEXCOM, Marines, Coast Guard Systems
  • Other projects/requests as requested or assigned by Senior Leadership

Explanation of lifting, temperature restraints, and other working conditions:

  1. Build, install and move various racks weighing up to 100 lbs.
  2. Build displays with up to 40lb case weight
  3. Freezer work at 0F
  4. Travel for store resets which last from 1 to 3 days
  5. Occasional outside case lot sales and weekend special events
  6. Pass a driver's background check
  7. Military Base access required, must pass base required background check
