Program Manager

This position will oversee development and production programs as well as integration of our ERP system interface with program management. The Program Manager will provide critical support for the entire Ammunition Handling System product lifecycle. In this capacity, the Program Manager will be accountable for all aspects of their given programs, including pursuit to order capture, product development, production ramp ups, and product support and maintenance.

Job Summary

  • Day to day execution of development and non-standard program execution
  • Support day to day execution of development activities
  • Critical liaison across Engineering, Contracts, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to coordinate schedule and commitments to all stakeholders
  • Drive the utilization of our ERP system to incorporate program management related activities from program proposals and capture through execution
  • Support development and enhancement of process maps and updating of the program management related tasks with our Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Manage major supplier efforts in support of the non-standard programs
  • Serves as program manager and/or capture lead for other R&D programs as directed
  • Serve as primary liaison between the customer and the Corporation
  • Lead and manage a cross functional integrated project team to ensure compliance with all technical, legal and contractual requirements of the program, best value sourcing, and to ensure efforts are completed on-time and within budget
  • Maintain an integrated master schedule as required
  • Support research and development project strategy and execution
  • Establish a program budget and maintain a quarterly P&L to which the program is managed
  • Schedules program milestone meetings both internally and with the customer as required
  • Manage, develop, compile, approve and draft as necessary all required document deliverables to the Customer in support of the Program
  • Lead all discussions, negotiations and reporting to the Customer and/or End-User as required
  • Facilitate and ensure export compliance with all activities and technical exports as required
  • Champion to incorporate our program management processes and execution with our ERP system
  • Develop customer champions and customer intimacy to stay well-informed of program milestones
  • Facilitate all complex proposal efforts and recommend pricing and strategy
  • Lead contract and pricing negotiations

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to manage the program team daily
  • Ability to manage revenue, profit and cash performance of programs
  • Ability to operate and lead in team environment and teach and mentor others to manage in the same way
  • Strong formal and informal communication skills with all levels of internal and external management
  • Ability to manage risk to reduce likelihood and severity of program impacts
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Required Experience and Education

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's
    degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • 4 or more years of experience managing programs or portfolios in the Defense Industry is highly desired
  • International experience highly desired
ITAR/EAR Compliance: This position requires access to export-controlled information and/or hardware, and candidates must be U.S. Persons that comply with all U.S. Export control laws and regulation. As such, U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or the ability to meet ITAR and EAR requirements is required.
