Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:

As a Tower Foreman/Climber at KCI, you will be a vital member of our team, responsible for ensuring the successful execution of field operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. In this role, you will lead by example, providing technical expertise, overseeing project implementation, and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Your dedication to excellence and proactive approach to problem-solving will contribute to the achievement of our organizational goals and the satisfaction of our clients.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

    Minimum 3 years of climbing experience preferred.
  • Must be able to complete and pass the COMTRAIN and NWSA certifications, as well as any other required training.
  • Must have the ability to climb & work proficiently 200ft + towers
  • Must have the ability to achieve and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Must be able to read and understand construction drawings, RFDS and SOW documents
  • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of the following:
    • Ability to use PIM / Sweep Test Gear
    • Ability to use Connector Tools, able to install connectors on all size coax
    • Ability to install coax / fiber trunks on the tower
    • Ability to install antennas: set RETs, Down tilts, Azimuths
    • Ability to collect, assemble, and submit closeout documentation
  • Willingness to travel locally. Some field work will be required. Position may require overnight travel

Performance and Project Management

  • Manage daily work routines and assign job activities as required.
  • Adhere to project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Maximize production and accuracy to achieve KCI goals.
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy before submission.
  • Proactively resolve problems.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, staff and supervisors.
  • Accurately record and report daily project requirements.
  • Submit accurate time sheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week.
  • Submit and deliver timely employee reviews, when applicable.

Technical Proficiency and Essential Competencies

  • Maintain all required certifications and participate in training as needed.
  • Possess specific knowledge to perform all assigned duties and understand applicable industry standards for assigned tasks.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Compliance, Safety, and Standards

  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures.
  • Identify, implement, and adhere to safe working practices.
  • Understand and enforce OSHA Safety Standards and corporate policies.
  • Ensure team members perform tasks using required industry standards and document their adherence.
  • Review jobsite safety daily and document and resolve issues immediately.
  • Ensure equipment, vehicle, and property security.
  • Understand and monitor all applicable Federal, state, and local safety and occupational health standards.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in field technician roles, with a track record of successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to quality assurance and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in AEC industry

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • A valid driver's license.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred:

Current Commercial Driver's License

  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
