National Grid is hiring a Senior Technician, Lab and Testingfor Massachusetts. This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations

Job Purpose

Our team culture is self-directed and empowered. Primarily responsible for commissioning meters for Meter Test and conducting meter audits in the field. Work on vital equipment at company-owned assets. Over time, expand your expertise to include tasks like wholesale meter testing, reading electrical prints, and using complex testing equipment.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ability to gain working knowledge of all aspects of metering including types of meters and PTs/CTs, functionality of meters and PTs/CTs, testing equipment, incorporated software used for meter test equipment, and the manufacturers of meters, PTs/CTs, equipment.
  • Accept and satisfactorily complete training in various types of electrical systems and equipment including metering and testing equipment.
  • Maintain a solid focus on customers' expected results.
  • Obtain proficient use of laboratory and corporate software systems.
  • Demonstrate and maintain excellent oral and written communication skills plus organizational and analytical abilities.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program is preferred.
  • Ability to learn the use complex test equipment in a safe and skillful manner.
  • Proficient MS Office (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Must be able to work overtime and/or holidays, nights, weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy.

Salary - $94,000 - $110,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
