Overview Jackson and Coker is a top healthcare staffing firm with nationwide reach, specializing in locum tenens (temporary staffing), locums-to-permanent and telehealth staffing. The IT Generalist is a versatile technology professional responsible for supporting and optimizing IT operations, managing applications, enhancing security compliance, and contributing to automation initiatives. This role goes beyond traditional IT support by ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and security of business technology solutions. The IT Generalist collaborates across teams to implement IT strategies, improve system performance, and align technology services with organizational goals. Additional Details: SaaS and Software Management: Provide basic support for SaaS applications, including user access, password resets, and issue resolution. Escalate unresolved issues to SaaS administrators. Onboarding and Offboarding: Set up new users with equipment, software, and permissions. Deactivate and recover IT assets during offboarding. End-User Support: Provide technical support via phone, email, or in-person for hardware and software issues. Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and other devices. Maintain a knowledge base to improve response times. IT Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Ensure IT equipment is functional, secure, and up to date with patches. Assist with imaging and deployment of new hardware. IT Asset & License Management: Manage IT assets and software licenses, ensuring compliance with procurement and budgeting guidelines. Security and Compliance: Apply patches and security updates, monitor for suspicious activity, and ensure compliance with IT security policies. Project and Collaboration: Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades and technology rollouts. Collaborate with teams to support business initiatives. Requirements: Proficiency in Windows (including Entra ID integration) and macOS configuration management. Familiarity with Intune or Jamf. In-depth understanding of Microsoft 365, Teams, and enterprise applications, including integration best practices. Knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management, license tracking, and software optimization strategies. Strong understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). Familiarity with PowerShell and low-code/no-code platforms like Microsoft Power Automate (preferred). Knowledge of IT governance, compliance frameworks, and IT service management (e.g., ITIL) (preferred). AAS in Computer Programming or Computer Network Systems, or relevant experience. 4+ years of experience in IT operations, system administration, or support, including troubleshooting, software management, and IT process improvement. Experience managing enterprise applications, integrations, and ensuring security and performance in cloud environments. Experience with network troubleshooting and working with network components. Ability to document solutions, create knowledge bases, and contribute to IT policies and procedures. Skilled in installing, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, and peripherals, with experience in Intune device management. Proficiency in onboarding/offboarding and managing user access with appropriate security controls. Experience in ensuring IT security policy compliance, access control management, and supporting cybersecurity best practices. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
