Position Summary:

The Senior Manager Finance Operations contributes to the overall success of Operations by effectively managing all financial tasks for the plants within their region. Responsible for supervision, guidance and development of Plant Finance Leaders. Ensure that company (HQ, Regional, Plant) objectives are met, including compliance with GAAP requirements and maintenance of appropriate internal controls. In addition to the aforementioned financial responsibilities, this role will serve as the indispensable business partner to the Regional VP of Manufacturing.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Financial Processes & Controls: Work with HQ and manufacturing facilities to standardize accounting, reporting and administrative practice. Ensure Ventura financial processes and controls are followed while assisting management to improve the operation.
  • Financial Analysis: Develop and track operational reporting metrics that translate into actionable business plans. Analyze financial results and provide insights to assigned business partners. Ensure all financial analysis and operational reporting is to the company standard. Review variances on a monthly basis with plants to understand root causes and implement corrective action.
  • Strategic and Annual Planning / Forecasting: Facilitate annual and strategic planning processes. Partner with Operations to establish an operating and capital budget that promotes growth and reduces costs. Assist the plants to deliver the Company financial plan while improving the performance of the facilities. Assist plants with forecasting to give management insight to trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Business Leadership: Identify any potential risks and opportunities to the business and drive for improved financial results. Promote good project management practices across the organization on capital projects and continuous improvement programs. Cultivate a culture focused on continuous improvement to create fuel for growth.
  • Business Systems: Evaluate Plant Finance Leaders and facility's use of information systems such as JDE, AS400 and Business Intelligence. Set goals for training and system use. Simplify and automate the business process to assure operations is focused on the proper metrics that drive business results.
  • Coaching and Development: Provide necessary training on financial analysis to business partners, direct and indirect reports to elevate the financial acumen of the organization. Ensure the appropriate amount of analytical rigor is used broadly across the operational organization.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration requiredand/or Master's degree a plus.
  • 8-10 years of progressive financial experience.
  • Manufacturing and/or food manufacturing experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing financial systems, including understanding and impact of factors such as Variable Margin, Standard Costs, Absorption, and Operational Overhead rates.
  • Experience leading, coaching and managing a team.
  • Multi-site leadership experience desired.
  • Must be highly analytical with project management skills to track large and complex projects.
  • Experience with JDE and AS400 preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel (including lookups, pivots, and slicers) and PowerPoint.

  • Salary Base Range of $121,265.60-$192,523.09*

Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography.
