Position Summary:

The position assists in the development, preparation, and management of the Ft. Huachuca, AZ USAICoE G3 air operations support, orders productions and dissemination process. This position serves as a technical subject matter expert (SME) to the Government in support of the coordination, collaboration, and communication efforts within the U.S. Army Intelligence Center, Fort Huachuca and other Army entities as required. The position also is required to accompany the Government on aerial surveys in order to execute the primary mission.

Specific Job Functions:



  • Monitor, track and report training statistics and conduct improvements to current operations processes. Provide SME input regarding the coordination of government unmanned aerial systems (UAS) users in the leveraging of FT Huachuca to conduct UAS Flight operations within Special Use Airspace. Provide input to the Government in the evaluation, analysis, and conflict resolution associated with balance among various airspace users and programs.
  • Review and provide input on reasonable equity determinations and work problems presented by Airspace users and/or team leaders along with potential resolutions. Provide input regarding the identification and resolution of significant bottlenecks, barriers to mission accomplishment.
  • Participates in monthly Tabletop Exercises, Annual Full-Scale Exercise, and otherreal-world or planned exercises. Support the flight operations mission process at the Center (Ft. Huachuca) level and assist with the management of weekly request submissions. Assist with the coordination of outside agencies, above and below the center, to ensure all airspace and airfield users have minimal to no impact on one-another's mission.
  • Serves as a Technical SME during face-to-face formal meetings, conferences, and telephonic meetings.
  • Support USAICoE on the coordination between all flight-requiring users and/or external agencies to enhance training and ensure that all suspense's are successfully met.
  • Provide input in the identification and resolution of marginal activities; facilitating other changes as dictated by technical advancements in training, slippages, or changes in higher authority goals and/or priorities. Serves as a Technical SME to the Government on changes to program goals and policies as circumstances require.
  • Provide input to USAICoE Command Team on Aviation Safety related issues.
  • Assists the USAICoE Leadership in understanding the overall airspace program in terms of adherence to local, state and federal governances. Serves as a Technical SME to the Government for the analysis of emergency and urgent requirements and DA/TRADOC directives.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science
  • Aviation background with ten years' experience U.S. Army Co/Bn/Bde staff operations and/or command. Qualification as rated aviator is beneficial but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of USAICoE training mission and organization
