Key Position Details: Job Description: Position's Purpose This Leader will focus on advanced payment models and organizational performance in value-based care arrangements and driving appropriate implementation to capture upside risk and minimize downside risk.
- Dyad partner to Medical Director of Population Health and Care Management
- Clinical Organization SME and Liaison for Alternative Payment Models (APM)
- Interpret and communicate APM model information and performance data to clinical and operational leaders to guide care model innovation and support integration into operational teams and scorecards
- Partner with clinical operations and payer contracting to support design, development, and negotiation of APM's for clinical models
- Clinical Organization SME and Liaison for CDI/UM
- Design strategies for documentation and UM improvement through appropriate structures, working closely with physician advisor team
- Educate on performance opportunities, strategies and tactics through liaising within the clinical organization.
- Lead System Steering Documentation Committee
- Payer Contracting Liaison from APM's, UM, CDI
- Partner with payer contracting in ownership of payer partner relationships for clinical associated activities (P4P, UM, CDI, HCC, performance management)
- Partner with payer contracting in negotiations for APM contracts
- Partner with finance, operations, safety/quality and external partners to quantify improvement opportunities in APM's, UM, and CDI
Principle Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate and implement Performance Transformation Portfolio Initiatives
- Evaluates current performance and develops actionable insights to inform performance transformation opportunities.
- Leverages and integrates industry benchmarking to improve understanding of organizational performance.
- Delivers actionable performance insights to senior and executive leaders.
- Identifies, recommends and supports the selection and prioritization of performance transformation opportunities.
- Monitors and integrates industry best practices to solve problems and improve performance.
- Collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to identify solutions and assess feasibility in practice.
- Evaluates the financial and performance benefit of recommended solutions.
- Drives the implementation of performance transformation opportunities.
- Develops, leads and executes implementation plans.
- Directs change management.
- Organizes structures and workgroups to move the solutions forward.
- Partners with Project Management Office (PMO) for larger-scale project management as needed.
- Develops sustainment plans for ongoing success and benefit realization.
- Identify resource needs for monitoring and sustaining solutions.
- Accountable for Performance Transformation Portfolio
- Provides executive summaries and detailed metrics and reports on project progress to goals.
- Ensures portfolio work products completed by consultants meet timelines and objectives.
- Oversees work products and ensure quality standards are met.
- Drive team and personal development
- Mentors team members.
- Drives personal professional development plan with support from leader.
- Stays current on emerging trends in area of expertise.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years prior experience with alternative payment models, utilization management and clinical document improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Management, Finance, Analytics or related field
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare leadership (Combined years of experience as a manager or director leading care delivery or operational functions)
- 5+ years managing and leading large-scale projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing, Business or Healthcare Administration or related field
- 2+ years of healthcare consulting experience
- Prior employment experience on both payer and provider sides
- Clinical experience as a nurse or provider
Physical Demands
- Sedentary: Lifting weight Up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently
Location
- This Leader position is primarily work-from-home, but the ability to work onsite at the Allina Commons in Minneapolis and across our local service area to build relationships, participate in planning and influence process will be required. Candidates should anticipate onsite work approximately 4-8 times/month.
Pay Range
Pay Range: $67.22 to $93.00 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
