The Corporate Vice President Finance will play an integral role within the finance domain responsible for business partnering, consolidation, reporting, analytics, multi-year planning, and headcount reporting for Strategic Capabilities business which includes AI & Data, NYL Ventures and Corporate Development.

The role will be required to partner with senior leadership in the business and extended Finance teams to drive financial reporting and analytics for the departmental expense bases.This partnership and support include, but not limited to, consolidation of departmental expenses on monthly and quarterly basis, reporting/analytics to appropriate stakeholders, coordination of Internal Labor planning/forecasting with business partners, and active engagement in creating and maintaining multi-year-planning schedules.In addition, the role may require supporting extended Business & Finance teams with ad hoc projects.

This position requires advanced analytical and communication skill sets to ensure requests are understood, processed and delivered within applicable time frames, and in accordance with New York Life's accounting policies and specific technical requirements.A strong ability to work independently, as well as a member of a cross-functional team is expected.

What You'll Do:
* Responsible for building strategic relationships with appropriate stakeholders within Finance and Business areas
* Consolidation and reporting of departmental expenses that include Cash/MSTAT views, including appropriate variance explanations.Provide insight-driven analysis and be adept at "storytelling"- i.e. communicating overarching themes and trends clearly to senior leadership
* Coordinating Internal Labor/HC with various departments for annual planning and quarterly forecasts
* Collaborate with Apptio support teams to ensure all Tableau dashboards and reports are synced with GL data, both from a Cash and MSTAT perspective
* Ability to ask tough questions and follow-up on outstanding requests in a timely fashion to ensure all reporting SLAs are met on time
* Collaborate with finance staff to identify and communicate financial variances and trends, and track risk and opportunities in the financial results and forecasts
* Prepare ad hoc financial analysis, management, and metrics reports as needed
* Help the extended team with various ad hoc reports or mini projects

What You'll Bring:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or similar; MBA preferred, but not required
* Minimum of 8-10 years of relative experience in Financial Planning & Analysis
* Proven ability to partner with various levels of management
* Knowledge utilizing Apptio (ATP/ITP), SAP, Tableau, and Business Intelligence tools a plus
* Experience with expense management processes
* Excellent analytical capabilities and pragmatic problem-solving skills
* Track record of driving continuous improvement efforts
* Experience with complex models (heavy reporting, building what if scenarios)
* Advanced in Excel (pivots, macros, complex formulas, v-look-up, etc.)
* Knowledge of GAAP/MSTAT Accounting
* Ability to work independently with minimal direction to achieve desired

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$117,500-$200,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
