As an Engineering Project Manager with a focus on project delivery, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing engineering projects within defined budgets, timelines, and quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, architects, and stakeholders, to ensure project objectives are met and client expectations are exceeded.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and budget allocation, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify project resource requirements and allocate them effectively, considering skills, availability, and budget constraints.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle and take proactive measures to minimize their impact.
  • Lead project execution activities, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow, adherence to project plans, and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and conform to industry standards.
  • Monitor project finances, track expenses, and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Foster effective communication channels among team members and stakeholders. Prepare and deliver progress reports, project updates, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and manage project changes, including scope variations, timeline adjustments, and resource reallocations. Assess the impact of changes on project objectives and communicate effectively with all parties involved.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Ensure team members understand their roles, responsibilities, and project goals.
  • Conduct project evaluations upon completion, capturing lessons learned, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices for future projects.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. A master's degree in project management or business administration is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8years of experience in project management, specifically in the engineering or construction industry. Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects is required.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Ability to develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets effectively.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles and processes related to the specific field of focus (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical). Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Experience in resolving conflicts and overcoming challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address project-related challenges proactively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools. Familiarity with industry-specific software applications is a plus.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE), or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is desirable.

At Mott MacDonald, we provide a comprehensive benefit package that includes 401k, medical, dental and vision insurance, short-term/long-term disability, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave and company paid life insurance.

The expected salary for this position is $114,000 - $140,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
