Overview

MasTec Communications Group is a leading national infrastructure construction company serving the wireless telecom industry. We provide end-to-end engineering and construction services across RF, OSP, and wireless projects.

As a Lead Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the structural analysis of communication structures, including guyed and self-supporting towers, monopoles, rooftops, platform designs, and foundations. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity and reliability of our network infrastructure.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Review project requirements to determine appropriate structural analysis approaches

  • Perform structural analysis using industry standards such as TIA-222 and other accepted methods

  • Review structural calculations, design drawings, and modification reports

  • Create structural analysis reports and recommendations for engineering and construction teams

  • Collaborate with design staff on drawings and modification markups

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the broader team

  • Remain up to date on evolving structural standards and methods relevant to telecom tower design

  • Support internal project teams and external customers with engineering recommendations


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's preferred

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or ability to obtain via reciprocity)

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering; 5+ years specific to telecommunications

  • 2+ years of AutoCAD experience required

  • Familiarity with TIA/EIA codes, structural software, and construction methods

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
