Pay rate: $30 - $35/hr.

Schedule: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

Building Engineer essential tasks:



  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, including filter changes, lubrication, and system checks.
  • Repair and replace mechanical components such as bearings, motors, dampers, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintain and repair drain lines up to 150 feet and other plumbing systems.
  • Operate and maintain HVAC systems, air handlers, pumps, motors, and control systems.
  • Complete Preventive Maintenance and On Demand Work Orders as assigned.
  • Inspect maintenance procedures for quality and ensure proper execution.
  • Maintain tools, bench stock, and spare parts; report needed repairs or replacements.
  • Oversee water treatment programs for open and closed loop systems with daily testing.
  • Ensure all work and storage areas are clean, organized, and in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service and be familiar with building systems such as shutoffs, lighting, alarms, and roof access.


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or higher, with at least 5 years of experience in HVAC or facilities engineering; Universal Certification or enrollment in an HVAC program required.
  • Certified in relevant mechanical trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.) through trade school or equivalent program.
  • Skilled in reading P&IDs, floor plans, site maps, and electrical diagrams; able to write and follow written/oral instructions and perform calculations.
  • Proven ability to repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and building auxiliary systems like fire-life safety and emergency generators.
  • Familiar with general building systems (e.g., lift equipment, overhead doors); possesses basic carpentry skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Physically capable of demanding tasks, including ladder climbing, confined space entry, lifting, and respirator use; knowledgeable in safe work practices.
