Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the design, implementation, operations, and cybersecurity of large-scale, resilient IT infrastructure-both on-premises and in the cloud. You will collaborate closely with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with performance requirements. Your role will involve translating business and technical requirements into actionable infrastructure solutions that support multiple programs and customers.

  • Design, implement, and maintain multi-tenant, multi-cloud, and on-prem infrastructure environments

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather technical requirements, architect solutions, and drive execution

  • Communicate infrastructure designs and solutions to technical teams and end-customer stakeholders

  • Develop and implement infrastructure designs for complex, multi-site data center and virtualized environments

  • Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and optimization of existing systems and infrastructure

  • Document engineering activities including physical/logical diagrams, implementation plans, and test/failover procedures

  • Perform system updates and security patching to maintain strong security posture across environments

  • Implement and operate virtualized compute, storage, and network environments in support of program needs

  • Research and prototype emerging technologies; work with OEMs to integrate new capabilities that meet evolving customer demands


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in engineering hardware and software solutions for data centers and virtual infrastructure technologies

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Ability to obtain and maintain an Top-Secret Clearance required.
  • Strong experience with core platforms and services, including:

    • VMware ESXi and vSphere

    • Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019 - deployment and administration

    • Microsoft Windows 10 - deployment and administration

    • Active Directory - design, implementation, and Group Policy management

    • DNS, DFS, and DHCP

    • Microsoft SCCM with Operating System Deployment (OSD)

  • Strong understanding of data center fundamentals:

    • Networking (software-defined networks experience is a plus)

    • Storage - familiarity with SAN and NAS protocols

  • Experience virtualizing enterprise applications such as:

    • Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, RHEL, Microsoft SharePoint, Unified Communications

  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain secure and reliable IT solutions that meet Cybersecurity and Information Assurance standards

  • Hands-on experience performing:

    • Security scans and system updates

    • Applying security configurations using DISA STIGs/SRGs

  • Familiarity with Data Center Automation and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, JSON, Bash, etc.

  • Meets DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements

  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership

  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and quality objectives

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 25%-50%

Desired / Advantageous Qualifications:

  • Experience with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) such as Cisco HyperFlex, Nutanix, etc.

  • Experience with Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), fabric interconnects, and similar technologies

  • Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions such as Citrix XenDesktop and/or VMware Horizon

  • Experience in large on-premise storage environments using NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, etc.

  • Experience designing and deploying:

    • Collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint)

    • SQL database infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server)

  • Experience engineering and deploying:

    • Data center and campus area networks

    • Security stacks and software-defined network environments

  • Understanding of DoD IT security requirements, including DISA STIGs/SRGs and relevant compliance frameworks

  • Knowledge of Department of Defense standards and best practices

  • Relevant vendor certifications (e.g., VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, NetApp)
