What You'll Do:


The Safety Coordinator position is an admin role that will support Vulcan's construction and asphalt division and assist area safety representatives with various safety and health items, including, but not limited to the following:

Champion Safety. Assist Safety manager and reps in identifying and evaluating safety issues affecting site field operations.

Maintain Safety Records. Collect, organize, and update all required safety records. Assist with documenting all training that occurs. Record personal protective equipment (PPE) levels and place appropriate PPE orders.

Administer Programs and Training. Administer Division and Company Safety and Health Programs and Policies, Division Learning Management System (LMS), new employee onboarding, and other Regulatory Compliance training.

Train. Partner with the S&H Representative to provide specialized training required by the state and site location. Assist with coordinating safety training and corrective actions.

Champion Employee Health. Schedule health screenings and testing for employees. Partner with Field HR Representatives to conduct evaluations of occupational medical clinics and build strong relationships with clinic personnel.

Monitor Health and Safety Regulations. Assist Risk Management with managing workers' compensation claims, first aid injuries, liabilities, property losses, and near misses. Maintain DOT files. Assist in scheduling DOT and Company regulatory screening processes, including random drug tests, OSHA training compliance, and the Learning Management System required training.

Monitor Accidents and Citations. Accurately maintain a database of injury and safety information.


Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Experience. Previous experience in data collection, strong organizational skills, communication skills, and a willingness to collaborate and work with a team are preferred. Previous experience in an industrial environment or construction/mining/aggregates industry is also preferred.

Regulation Knowledge. Working knowledge of workers' compensation-related issues and liabilities is preferred. Knowledge of OSHA construction and general industry, MSHA, ATF, and DOT regulations is preferred.

High Integrity. Must display the highest commitment to ethical decision-making and integrity.

Technology Skills. Must have strong computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, and cell phones. Must be able to use various and highly sophisticated computerized devices.
