Summary:
The Food Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food service facility. This includes managing staff, maintaining quality and safety standards, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maximizing profitability through efficient operations and cost control.
Essential Functions:
Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule food service staff, including servers, cooks, and kitchen personnel.
Oversee daily operations, including food preparation, service, inventory management, and facility maintenance.
Collaborate with culinary staff to develop menus that align with the facility's concept, customer preferences, and dietary needs.
Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost control measures to drive profitability.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
Ensure consistent adherence to quality standards in food preparation, presentation, and customer service.
Monitor food costs and assess profitability by menu item.
Coordinate with other departments (front-of-house, kitchen, and management) for smooth daily operations.
Oversee the preparation and portioning of food items according to standardized recipes and guidelines.
Ensure timely and friendly service of food and beverages to customers or clients.
Monitor cash handling processes for accuracy and accountability.
Enforce cleanliness and sanitation standards across all food service areas.
Ensure proper receipt, storage, and inventory of incoming food and supplies.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food handling and temperature control.
Schedule and supervise food service workers to ensure adequate coverage and efficiency.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Foodservice Management required and Bachelor's Degree Hospitality/Hotel Management preferred

Experience
Food Service Industry Experience 5-7 years required and Management Experience 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledgeable of food safety principles and practices.
- Knowledgeable with basic food preparation techniques, such as cutting, chopping, and measuring ingredients.
- Strong leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and provide constructive feedback.
- Understanding of financial management principles, such as budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills to understand customer orders, interact with team members, and follow instructions from supervisors.
