What you'll do

In this important role on AlixPartners' Corporate Services team, you will support the AlixPartners Server environment as a key member of the Datacenter Infrastructure Operations team. The Infrastructure Team is responsible for the maintenance, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting of the AlixPartners data center environments. You will take part in the design, build and implementation of new and existing technologies to support the increasing demands from the greater AlixPartners community.

Responsibilities include overseeing the patch management process, aligning all organization systems in compliance with security standards and regulations. This role involves managing a team, designing and implementing strategies to maintain the highest level of system security and compliance, and coordinating actions across multiple departments and stakeholders.

The IT Infrastructure Operations Team Lead is a full-time role located in Southfield, MI and reports to the Infrastructure Operations Manager. Paid relocation is not available for this position.



  • Serve as an Infrastructure Operations Team Lead, providing expertise and technical guidance, support, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Manage the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and other related tools throughout the firm.
  • Oversee the deployment of windows patching and 3rd party patching policies with Intune.
  • Package, deploy and update software applications for the entire firm.
  • Design and implement client facing self-service dashboards
  • Evaluate and improve patch management processes, tools, and techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to proactively review performance monitoring efficacy and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead the creation and/or modification of documentation activities related to system configuration, policies, and procedures, including the overall structure and standards for documentation.
  • Acquire knowledge, via both formal and on-the-job training, of the various 3rd party packaged software applications and custom solutions used to provide systems monitoring, management, and reporting within the AlixPartners environment.
  • Act as a point of contact with the business and applications teams to analyze and resolve reported technical issues and/or performance issues.
  • Identify and resolve system-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain high availability
  • Conduct daily systems management and tuning, including maintenance and trend analysis of the data center infrastructure.
  • Monitor Windows systems, confirming they are up to date with the latest patches and compliant with organizational policies and industry standards, including all servers and endpoints.
  • As part of the team, provide day-to-day technical, administrative, and functional support for AlixPartners infrastructure environments, including servers, vCenter, and virtualization platforms.
  • Evaluate and manage performance monitoring platforms and tools.

What you'll need



  • Bachelor or Masters' Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant IT experience; experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with Microsoft Windows, Windows Server OS, system center management, with a focus on Windows patching, compliance and application life cycle.
  • Proficient knowledge of general enterprise IT principles and practices, including experience with both hardware and software architectures.
  • Proficient knowledge of PowerShell Scripting, application packaging and familiarity with other scripting languages.
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center Suite (SCOM, SCORCH, SCEM), Microsoft Intune management, monitoring and alerting systems, patching and administration of Linux Operating Systems a plus
  • Cisco UCS Intersight experience a plus
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly research new platforms and issues.
  • Collaborative style and customer-service mindset with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people at all levels.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Able to operate independently and with a sense of urgency in a complex and changing work environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience in a 24x7x365 service delivery model supporting mission-critical business operations.
  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • On-Call Responsibilities outside of regular working hours and participate in monthly maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
