The College of Health Sciences - Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences - Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound (DMU) Program at the University of Missouri (MU) - Columbia invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track, Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor position with teaching and service responsibilities. Teaching responsibility includes appointment as Clinical Coordinator. About the Department/Program The Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences - Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Program is a 2+2 Bachelor's degree entry to practice program that was founded in 2000. The program has earned CAAHEP accreditation in its Cardiac, Vascular, Abdominal-Extended, and Obstetrics and Gynecology concentrations. The program emphasizes teaching excellence resulting in highly sought-after graduates. Program outcomes consistently exceed accreditation thresholds for student retention, job placement, and credential success. Program faculty are actively engaged in service to the sonography profession and the university. In addition to the undergraduate DMU program, the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences offers a Master's degree advancement program that prepares credentialed sonographers for leadership. The DMU program is one of five programs in the Clinical & Diagnostic Sciences Department, which values a collegial environment that supports the intellectual and professional growth of their faculty. The Clinical & Diagnostic Sciences Department is one of eight departments within the College of Health Sciences, a rapidly expanding school within the University of Missouri. Position Overview Responsible for clinical coordination and teaching, as well as the development of curriculum, policies and procedures. Serves as the primary liaison between the program and affiliated clinical sites, ensuring seamless coordination of applied learning experiences, evaluating the effectiveness of clinical instruction and learning opportunities, assessing program outcomes and maintaining appropriate communications with the program director. Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have earned at least a bachelor's degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The candidate must hold one or more active ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT sonography credentials with appropriate knowledge and a minimum of two years of clinical ultrasound experience. Candidates may be evaluated on other ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT sonography specialty credentials, graduate degree or progress toward graduate degree, teaching experience, and /or outcomes of sonography teaching.
