We have a summer internship opportunity for a UI/UX Design and Front-End Developer. We are seeking applicants who have a deep interest in visual design, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to make an impact to solve tough problems.
- Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand user needs and preferences.
- Create wireframes (basic visual layouts) and prototypes (interactive models) to visualize and test design concepts.
- Design user interfaces (UI), focusing on visual elements like color, typography, and image placement, to create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces.
- Conduct usability testing to identify potential issues and ensure the design meets user expectations.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather feedback, iterate on designs, and ensure alignment with product goals.
- Document design decisions and processes to ensure a clear understanding of the design strategy.
- Develop new user-facing features and functionalities based on requirements.
- Design and develop the visual layout, interactions, and overall appearance of user interfaces.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and functional user experience.
- Thoroughly test and debug front-end applications to identify and resolve issues.
- 0 - 3 years of applicable experience in design or front-end development.
- User Research: Understanding of user research methodologies and techniques.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or Photoshop.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Skills in creating wireframes and prototypes using various tools.
- Visual Design: Strong visual design skills, including an understanding of color theory, typography, and layout.
- Interaction Design: Knowledge of interaction design principles and techniques.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively convey design ideas and work with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving: Ability to identify and resolve usability issues and iterate on designs based on user feedback.
- HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: Proficient in using these core web technologies.
- Front-end Frameworks/Libraries: Familiarity with popular frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Responsive Design: Ability to create web pages that adapt to different screen sizes and devices.
- Version Control: Experience with Git and other version control systems.
- Testing and Debugging: Skills in identifying and resolving front-end issues.
