Job Title: Site Safety and Health Officer - South Central Region Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7-4 Company: Potawatomi Defense Operations, LLC Location/Site: San Antonio, Texas Salary Range: 90,000 - $120,000 Summary The SSHO will have good working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical or electrical discipline and a solid understanding of the other disciplines. Good working knowledge of construction means and methods associated with the renovation and construction of commercial and institutional buildings and site work. SSHO is a person who demonstrates an ability to manage a project cradle-to-grave for construction and/or design/build management for the entire life cycle of projects that he or she is tasked with managing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to: Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work. Attend pre-work meetings and produce job-specific APP and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), in accordance with PDO's Safety and Health Program. Work as a member of the project team, including sub-contractors, to ensure implementation and continuous monitoring and enforcement of the provisions of the project APP and AHAs. Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with all applicable OSHA requirements and regulations, and other applicable regulations. Conduct regular site inspections, recording all violations and noting what remediation needs to occur to keep the project moving safely. Prepare comprehensive reports of safety inspections and complete all safety related documentation and paperwork. - Coordinate response to on-site emergencies, and interface with off-site and on-site emergency response entities. Conduct safety training, including new employee orientation or refresher training, and on-the-spot training for all personnel. Work with the management team to develop new safety policies, refine existing policies, modify design requirements, and draft construction-related specifications. Working knowledge and ability to use PROCORE. Ability to manage trades class workers and supervisors. Acquires and manages all building permits and other regulatory prerequisites (when required). Visit project work sites, to assure safety, quality, cleanliness and to manage the overall contracted scope of work. Drives project performance to include updating project schedules and the ongoing identification of impacts caused by changes to the critical path; to include corresponding backup and narratives to justify time extensions as they occur. In cooperation with the Project Superintendent, it manages the development and communication of look-ahead schedules. Develop and implement strategies to subcontract or self-perform the various aspects of a project to achieve the project's objectives. Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions. Take a lead role in conducting and documenting project progress meetings. Ensures that all aspects of the project are compliant with all contract terms and legal requirements that govern the project and the community in which the project(s) takes place. Administers client-specific programs, such as CQC, Safety, Environmental Stewardship, etc. Provides timely and cordial interaction with supporting work groups, such as Accounting, HR, ICS, etc.

5 years of Construction Industry safety experience on similar projects in supervising or managing general or industry construction (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls). Maintained experience through having taken 24 hours of documented formal or on-line safety and health related coursework in the past three years. The training must be applicable to the work being performed on the project. Teaching is not considered the equivalent of attending training. Safety Engineer shall be able to demonstrate training in the following areas: Personal protective equipment and clothing to include selection, use and maintenance, hazard communication, excavation, scaffolding, fall protection, and confined space. OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification (within the past 5 years) USACE Quality Control Management Certificate Current First Aid/CPR/AED Training High School Diploma Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication. Demonstrate a professional demeanor.
Physical Demands
Frequent sitting for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper, reaching with hands and arms for items above and below desk level, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place within the office with occasional use of stairs and no elevator available; bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for up to 2 hours; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds such as small office equipment, files, stacks of paper, reference and other materials. Work is performed in an office setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment. Travel required. This position is located on the job site in an office workspace/office trailer. Travel may be required. Generally, indoors. While outdoors may be subject to construction site conditions, confined spaces, changes in temperature, weather conditions and noise levels.
