This position can beremote (must be located near a major airport)within the United States with travel to our Modesto, CA headquarters as needed.Please note that this role will require up to 75% overnight travel with approximately half the time spent in California.

Join the dynamic team at Rombauer Vineyards as our Manager, National Sales. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Estate Vice President to drive our wholesale sales performance to new heights. You will be responsible for overseeing our California Regional Sales Managers and Ambassadors, managing broker relationships, and setting ambitious sales goals. Your expertise will be key in planning and executing pricing strategies, managing inventory, and identifying lucrative market opportunities.

We seek a leader who can effectively communicate sales performance insights and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders. You will play a crucial role in developing and managing the national sales budget, ensuring a cost-effective allocation of resources. Your strategic mind will be essential in setting business goals, planning in-market activities, and creating educational materials in collaboration with our marketing team.

As the Manager, National Sales, you will be the driving force behind our California Wholesale Business. You will manage broker relationships, evaluate long-term alignments, and work directly with brokers and accounts to achieve our ambitious targets. Your role will also involve planning and executing domestic in-market activities, managing the Rombauer Ambassador position, and leading distributor education and training efforts.

In addition, you will engage with Gallo Sales, setting high-level sales goals with the Estate Director and working closely with Gallo Distributor Management and Customer Development teams to drive distribution and sales. Your responsibilities will include overseeing inventory levels, market allocations, and ensuring account-level pricing discipline.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of wine sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of luxury wine sales, restaurant/hospitality, or broker/distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years of luxury wine sales, restaurant/hospitality or broker/distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • On-premise and retail sales experience.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to travel by air and automobile up to 75% during the course of business.
  • Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform product tastings as part of job functions.
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership selling, time management, public speaking skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What You Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of Gallo winery or broker/distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Sales Planning Manager Sr, Business Development Manager Sr, Business Intelligence Manager Sr, or Account Manager 3; OR Bachelor's degree plus 9 years of external alcohol sales experience to include luxury sales experience.
  • Direct managerial/supervisory experience with sales, retail, or on-premise employees (e.g. District Manager, Area Manager, State Manager, Field Marketing manager, etc.)
  • Experience with selling or marketing Gallo products.
  • Possess a CSW, CSS or other equivalent certification.

Compensation:

  • Hiring salary range posted: $138,690- $231,100/ year
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
