Payrate: $70/hr - $90/hr on W2
Job Description:
- Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment
- Advise on integration of new emerging industry technologies to the program's systems
- Implement engineering changes to the system as required
- Review, analyze, and incorporate technical requirements into end-to-end system architectures
- Responsible for completing the network configurations and coordinating with the peers, SMEs, and government engineers.
- Occasional travel may be required
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 8 years of experience; OR 6 years of relevant experience with a Master (MS) degree; OR 4 years of experience with STEM PhD degree; an additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor degree.
- Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
- Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP sub-netting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
- Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE).
- Understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
- Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
- A professional certification specific to the networking industry like a CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
- Familiar with network management applications, like Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and/or Cisco Client.
- Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs.
- Familiar with Windows, Linux, and VMWare configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
- Experience with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2.
- Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services.
- Experience with Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VTC.
- Experience with Cisco Modelling Labs (CML) or Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL).
- Proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio.
- Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance.
