This is a contract position governed by the terms and conditions of the employment agreement.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The City of Cape Coral Internship Program is designed to provide an opportunity for select students to gain hands-on experience, strengthen their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
This program is specifically structured to focus on the professional development of the intern and to better prepare them for future employment opportunities and a successful transition into the related field.
This individual will assist with various projects and tasks, assist in the identification of issues/problems, researches and gathers data, analyzes alternatives, and implements plans.
Communicates with professionals, City staff, and the public.
Has general knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and related equipment or electronic devices.
Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; calculate decimals and percentages.
Requires written and oral communications for effective expression of concepts.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with supervisor, support staff and other personnel.
Organizes and reviews work for efficient results and accuracy.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current junior, senior or graduate student at an accredited college or university in a related Bachelor's or Master's degree program.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
When assigned to the City Clerk's department:
Internship to be completed in person / on site at City Hall during business hours
Intern may be assigned work that consists of special projects, training videos, and/or reports utilizing various computer and electronic devices to include the Artificial Intelligence
