Position Summary

The Maintenance Adminstration - Intern will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Planner to develop and communicate relevant KPI's for the maintenance team, overdue PM's, schedule adherence, and machine equipment downtime. Also, will support the implementation of maintenance best practice methodologies/technologies including LSS (Lean Six Sigma) processes, and the creation of standard work orders for routine maintenance activities. The maintenance intern will be expected to use best maintenance planning practices to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, safety, and quality of operation.

Ideal candidate:

    • Local to the Northwest Indiana area. Relocation or housing is not provided for this internship.
    • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not provided for this internship.
    • Internship Duration is May 19, 2025 to August 15, 2025
    • Able to accomadte Schedule; Monday- Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm CST


Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with operations, purchasing, materials management, maintenance personnel and maintenance management.
  • Identifies and obtains (requisitions, orders, kits as appropriate and in keeping with procedures) determinable materials, entering material needs on the work order.
  • Estimates cost of each work order in terms of direct labor, materials required and total cost.
  • Once a job is planned and estimated, prior to scheduling, verifies the availability of parts, materials and special tools required for its execution.
  • Liaise with engineers and other stakeholders regarding upcoming scheduled maintenance, including the ordering of components, consumables, equipment, and tools via SAP/ CMMS.
  • Identify critical component and material needs and establish safety stock requirements within SAP/ CMMS to ensure components are on site or quickly sourced to minimize downtime.


Qualifications

  • In process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in Technical, Engineering, General Education, Business, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Management fields.
  • Completion of 2 years of degree (Juniors or Seniors)
  • Knowledge Microsoft Office Products (e.g. Excel, Word)
  • Industrial mechanical, electrical systems or automation (preferred)
